Design of an Adjusted Fuzzy Time Series Model For Forecasting The Number of Chinese Tourists Who Will Visit Thailand

Abstract
Fuzzy time series-Markov chain model and fuzzy time series model based on the nearest symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy number, as proposed by Ruey-Chyn Tsaur (2012) and Rajaram el al. (2012) respectively, are applied to forecast the number of Chinese tourists who will visit Thailand. The two modified fuzzy time series methods satisfy with uncertain observed data and they provide high accuracy forecasting values. The numerical results confirm the potential benefits of the adjusted fuzzy time series models with a small mean absolute of percentage error.
