Non – Parametric Control Charts Based on Median Ranked Set Sampling

Abstract
In this paper, we study the average run length ( ) performance of the two non – parametric control charts (Mann-Whitney control chart (U – Chart) and Wilcoxon rank sum test control chart (W – Chart)).The data are generated from normal distribution, uniform distribution, and Weibull distributions with the process mean shift in  times of standard deviation ( = 0.50, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, and 3). The results show that of non – parametric control chart base on median ranked set sampling (MRSS) has superior performance than the simple random sampling.
