THE IMPACTOF THE COVID-19 PAMDEICONTHE IT INDUSTRY: AN EMPIRICAL STUDY USING COPULA REGRESSION ANALYSIS

Abstract
In Japan, information technology (IT) systems have long supported corporate management, but their importance has significantly increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which accelerated the adoption of remote work and digital transformation. While the IT industry is often perceived as having performed well during the pandemic, empirical evidence on how the crisis affected its business performance remains limited. This study estimates the performance of IT companies by applying both logistic regression and copula regression models, comparing fiscal year 2019 (pre-pandemic) with more recent data. Copula regression, which is effective for modeling dependencies among multiple variables, allows a more flexible analysis of complex relationships between company attributes and performance outcomes. Our findings offer new insights into how the pandemic reshaped the dynamics of the Japanese IT sector. Keywords - Copula Regression, Logistic Regression, IT Industry.
