Paper Title
The Science of Logistics from Consumer Perspective
Abstract
This study examines the public understanding of logistics in Latvia, highlighting the gap between academic definitions and public perception. Using literature review and a survey of 404 respondents, the study shows that logistics is often misinterpreted as simple transportation or outsourcing, without considering its broader role in managing the flows of materials, services, finance and information. The results indicate significant knowledge gaps, especially regarding the competitiveness, sustainability and use of technology in logistics. The study proposes to redefine logistics and include logistics education at earlier academic stages to increase understanding and improve the strategic integration of logistics in business.
