Paper Title
GC-MS Analysis of Essential Oil of Lavandula Angustifolia
Abstract
The paper presents a gas chromatographic analysis of Lavandula angustifolia essential oil, which allows to determine its chemical composition, classify its components by their nature, and evaluate potential areas of application. 34 compounds were identified, the majority of which were oxygen-containing monoterpenes, such as camphor (48.32%), linalool (9.34%), and endo-borneol (9.21%). The oil composition was analyzed by compound classes, optical isomers, and their functional purpose. It was shown that lavender oil has pronounced antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, sedative, and aromatic properties, which determines its demand in medicine, cosmetology, aromatherapy, and perfumery. The data obtained can be used for standardization and development of new products based on lavender oil.
