Paper Title
Study on Automation of BIM-Based Rebar Quantity Takeoff and Cost Analysis Using Dynamo and Business Intelligence Tools
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to construct an automated workflow that is based on Building Information Modeling (BIM) and makes use of Dynamo and other business intelligence technologies in order to extract and assess rebar amounts in a complete manner. Specific criteria, including bar diameter, cut lengths, and numbers, are meticulously organized based on the structural element and floor level. The structured data directly connects to an Excel-based Rebar List, enhanced by VBA automation. Interactive dashboards in Power BI facilitate dynamic visualization and cost analysis. Specifically developed for building processes, the first findings indicate that there is a significant reduction in the amount of time spent, an increase in accuracy, and an improvement in procurement planning. All of these improvements are designed to make the process of procurement more efficient.
