Paper Title
Social Security Gaps and Policy Responses for Platform Workers in the Digital Age

Abstract
With the rapid development of digital technology, the platform economy has become a core driver of global economic growth. However, the social security problems of platform workers have become increasingly prominent, threatening social equity and sustainable development. This paper systematically analyses the protection gaps of platform workers in terms of labour relationship identification, social insurance participation rate and occupational safety, and explores their causes from the aspects of system adaptability, legal status definition and responsibility sharing mechanism. Based on this, the paper puts forward policy suggestions such as restructuring the social insurance system, clarifying the legal status of ‘employee-like’ workers, and reinforcing the tripartite coordination among government, enterprises and labour, with a view to providing theoretical basis and practical paths to improve the rights and interests protection system for platform workers.
