The Development of English-Speaking Skill Learning Activity Package Utilizing The Interview Method

Abstract
This study had three primary objectives: 1) to develop an English-speaking skill learning activity package utilizing the interview method; 2) to assess and compare the proficiency levels of English-speaking skills before and after the implementation of the learning activity package; and 3) to evaluate student satisfaction with the English-speaking skill learning activity package. Employing a pre-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest-posttest design, theresearch tools included 1) English-speaking skill learning activity packages utilizing theinterview method, 2) an English-speaking test, and 3) a satisfaction survey. The sample comprised 58 eighth-grade students enrolled in the English Listening and Speaking course (E22204) during the 2023 academic year. The study was conducted in the second semester. Following an initial English-speaking skill test, students engaged with the learning activity package for six weeks. Interviews facilitated by the teacher were conductedsequently. Finally, student satisfaction was surveyed and analyzed. The results demonstrated that the learning activity package was effective, with an efficiency rating of 75.50/77.60, exceeding the established criterion of 75/75. Post-intervention, students exhibited a significant improvementin speaking skills (p<.05), and reported high levels of satisfaction with the learning package.
