Paper Title
IMPACT OF CAMEL WHEY PROTEINS ON METABOLIC DISORDERS DURING OBESITY

Abstract
Abstract - Camel milk is known for its nutritional properties and its therapeutic virtues against many metabolic diseases. These properties are mainly attributed to whey proteins that possess bioactive effects such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antidiabetic, anti-obesity, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory. This study aims to investigate camel whey protein's beneficial effects on obesity-related, diabetic, and hepatic metabolism in cafeteria-diet-induced obese rats. The obesity model was established by feeding Wistar rats a cafeteria-style diet for four months, followed by four weeks of supplementing with camel whey protein isolate (WPI). The oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), plasma chemistry, and hepatic lipids analysis were conducted. The results showed that supplementing with WPIc decreases body weight gain, improves hepatic lipid metabolism, and alleviates glucose tolerance in obese rats. The use of WPIc as a dietary therapy has the potential to improve metabolic disorders such as diabetes and obesity Keywords - Camel Whey Proteins, Obesity, Metabolic Disorders
