Impact of Different Phase Training on Selected Motor Fitness Variables Among Intercollegiate Football Players

Abstract
The study was designed to investigate the impact of different phase training on selected motor fitness variables among intercollegiate football players. The purpose of the study is to improve motor fitness component through different phase training. There were thirty (N = 30) intercollegiate football players from YMCA college of physical education, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The players were randomly selected for this study. The age group ranged from 18 to 24 years. The participants were divided into two groups, i.e., the control group and the experimental group. Each group consists of 15 participants. Motor fitness component Leg explosive power was evaluated by the standing board jump, and agility was assessed by the Illinois Agility Test. The results of the experimental study show that different phase training produces significant improvement over motor fitness components like Leg strength and agility among intercollegiate football players.
