Executive Perception of Corporate Social Responsibility in Nepalese Commercial Bank

Abstract
Introduction Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is related to the responsibility that commercial bank has to perform for positive improvement in society. In recent days, CSR has become initiative to enhance banking performance. This has also created the alertness in banking sector of Nepal. In contemporary situation, Nepalese banking executives are every now and then seen in social activities related with development of society. This initiation suggest that executives of Commercial bank are slowly been focusing on their role of CSR. This research thus tries to address the various aspect of responsibility associated with social, legal and political dimension of society and shows perception of executives towards these social responsibilities through various statistical analyses. Purpose The main purposes of research is to find Executive perception of corporate social responsibility in Nepalese Commercial Bank. Design This research uses quantitative research method for revealing the findings. Researcher has collected data through self structured questionnaire techniques which is one of the most popular ways for collecting data from primary source. Quantitative research method is effective in this research. Since, data are collected from field under self observation which helps to provide correct and actual information from Nepalese Commercial Bank. This method helps to analyze facts through proper statistical analysis which helps to justify the findings more precisely. Hence, quantitative research is best method for this research. Findings Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) being the associate part of financial institution has definite share in banking efficiency enhancement. The bankers are more or less familiar with their role of fulfilling corporate social responsibility. In this research paper, research through proper statistical analysis has found that executive of Commercial Bank are well aware of CSR activities and are performing accordingly. However, there are various insights where executive has to face challenges on executing the social activities on ground level. Nepalese Commercial Bank’s executives are aware of their CSR performance but due to prolonged thought of taking CSR as financial burden by investor. There is clash between alertness of banker and performance in ground which is shown in research. Originality/Value This research paper is based on primal research work. Research is self designed and data are chronologically presented through self designed questionnaire. Hence, data are highly enriched and original as researcher has collected data through field study himself. The information is authentic and has potential to present the perception of executive which is entirely new arena of study in Nepalese Commercial Banking sector. This research thus provide newfangled path in field of Nepalese banking research.So, research has higher caliber and is lone. Keywords - Corporate Social Responsibility, Perception
