Paper Title
Creating Environmental Awareness in Future Designers; Paper Recycling Project

Abstract
“They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” Andy Warhol Paper is a material that has many negative effects on the environment during design. In the production of papers, from the cutting of the tree to the whitening process of the fibers, the environmental damage continues. In this process, the designer can reduce pollution and waste to protect the environment by reducing the use of paper and contribute to the reuse of paper waste . When designing leaving specified aesthetic considerations behind, designer can prefer for example, only successive paper sizes (ISO international standard paper sizes) which have no outage. In this context, the designer has an important role in reducing the negative effects of paper consumption on the environment and recycling. Based on this idea, a recycling topic for the reuse of paper waste was selected for the Graphic Design Project course of the 4th grade students of Anadolu University Disabilities Integrated School. In the first stage of the project, students were informed about paper production and recycling. In the second phase of the project, the used papers were separated and converted into paper, and in the third phase of the Project, greeting cards, business cards and invitation designs were made using prints on these papers produced.
