Paper Title
The Effectiveness of using Think-Pair-Share (TPS) Strategy in Developing Students’ Critical Thinking Skills

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of using think-pair-share (TPS) strategy in developing critical thinking skills among university students. TPS is one of the cooperative learning strategies that encourages student to participate in group discussion, think critically about issue given and capable to present. There are seventy students from two classes (Class X and Class Z) involved as sample in this study. An experimental research design applied in this research. Class X was selected as the experimental group (using TPS technique) and Class Z became the control group (not used TPS technique) while learning Critical Thinking subject. The finding shows that students who used TPS technique showed greater macro critical thinking level in oral presentation than to those who did not use TPS technique. The results of this study indicate that think-pair-share (TPS) technique has helped students to be confident in conveying their ideas and content delivery accompanied by critical thinking. It is recommended that faculty be instructed in effective teaching methods that include TPS technique for students. This study reveals that conducting TPS technique in oral presentation can encourage students to be more autonomous, responsible, and involved in learning.
