Paper Title
Facile and Cost-Effective Fabrication of High Performance Detectors Based on Nanorod Tungsten Oxide Materials

Abstract
This paper shows asimple, fast, and extremely cost effective method for syntheses of nano tungsten oxide. Few minutes of synthesis could yield a large amount, high-quality nano tungsten oxide that makes mass production of high-performance nano tungsten oxide based devices possible.Scanningelectron microscopeindicated that the synthesized sample consists of nanorods uniformly and densely distributing on theentire surface area of substrate. Each rod appears to have well-shaped edges, indicating its crystalline structures that were confirmed with Raman spectrum, X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive spectroscopy measurements. Based on these nanorod materials, asimple, low costdeep UV photodetectorwith high sensitivity and fast response was designed, fabricated and tested. Multichannel PASCO Capstone interface was used to characterizethe response strengths, response and recovery times of the prototype exposed todifferent deep UV radiationsat different intensities. In addition, effects of bias, temperature, plasma processon the performence of the prototypewere also evaluated. The newly designed prototypewasdemonstrated to have very good performancesincluding high sensitivity up to 1.17 A/W, fast responsetime of lower than 2 ms, and high stability in repeatability and baseline. Differences in response of device to different UV radiation wereexplored. Keywords - Photodetector; Tungsten Oxide; Nanostructure, Fast Response
