Prediction of In-Cylinder Pressure in Biodiesel-Diesel Operated Diesel Engine by Use of Artificial Neural Network

Abstract
In-cylinderpressure is one of the most important parameter especially for automotive engine researches since it has direct relation with combustion process. Most of the advanced engine control systems use in-cylinder pressure as control parameter. The pressure in cylinders is measured with help of advanced and expensive sensors. That’s why, in this paper, An Artificial neural network (ANN) is used to estimate the in-cylinder pressure in order to avoid high cost and time wastage. Crank angle, Cetane number and compression ratio is used as input of ANN and using these values, In-cylinder pressure is estimated. ANN was designed on Neural Network Toolbox in MATLAB. Eventually, it was seen that ANN should be suggested as an effective estimation tool for engine parameters. Keywords - ANN, In-cylinder Pressure, Combustion
