Comparative Study of Various Methods for Treating zero Undesirable Outputs in Data Envelopment Analysis

Abstract
There are few studies of data envelopment analysis (DEA) models discussed to address business operations performance problems with zero undesirable outputs. In this paper, various methods for treating zero undesirable outputs in the DEA are discussed, and the resulting efficiency scores are compared. This paper used an example to illustrate these methods for handling zero undesirable outputs in the DEA to assess the business operations performance of 11 industrial sectors in Taiwanin 2013.
