Paper Title
A Quantized Model For Computer Forensic Investigation

Abstract
This paper presents a model for computer forensic investigation process which follows a quantized pattern and rigid practices. The proposed model, a Quantized Model for Computer Forensic Investigation (QMCFI), is capable of bringing uniformity and standardization in computer forensic investigation across the globe. Computer forensic investiga- tions are known to fail due to absence of standards and unreli-able digital evidences. A major fraction of digital evidences presented in courts is deemed inadmissible because of that. Proposed model breaks the investigation in small independent processes which are based on a process work-flow fashion and this eradicates the various failing factors of forensic process. This paper also provides a different vantage point towards the traditional definition of digital evidence and with this authenti- cates not only result but also the process. This paper goes into depth of process to provide reader with an insight in investiga- tion process. Also guidelines for documentation process which should be followed to procure reliable evidence are also given in proposed model. All in all this paper is intended to act as a handbook for computer forensic investigators. Index Terms: Computer Forensics, Digital Evidence, Digital Investigation.
