Models for Locating Wireless Sensor Networks in the Presence of Cooperative Coverage

Abstract
In this study, we consider Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) location problems for area coverage purposes. Using a two-dimensional grid structured area setting, we develop several mathematical models which incorporate cooperative coverage of grid points under various assumptions and sensing models. The portfolio of models presented in this work covers the WSN location model for all eight combinations of continuous or discrete candidate sensor locations, binary or diffuse sensing models, and limited or unlimited resource cases with different objectives.
