Paper Title
Cortical Bone Thickness at Potential Dental Implant Sites

Abstract
Dental implant has become the common dental treatment recently.Basically, the bone quality at the dental implant site is one of the most important factors affecting the survival rate of dental implants. Previous dentists and researchers have used computed tomography to measure the inner cancellousbone density. However, the study of cortical bone thickness at dental implant site is rather scarce. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the cortical bone thickness at potential dental implant sites in different regions of the jawbone using dental cone beam computed tomography images. In the experiments, three hundred and ninety samples were selected from the ninety sevenpatients. For the experimental results, the cortical bone thickness in the four regions decreased in the following order : posterior mandible (1.15±0.43 mm) ≧anterior mandible (1.01±0.34 mm) >anterior maxilla (0.75±0.18 mm) >posterior mandible (0.62±0.21 mm).
