Development of E-Learning Application of Android Tablet for Infants Based on Augmented Reality

Abstract
Augmented Reality technology is rapidly being applied to various application area including e-learning and e-education. This paper focused on the design and development of android tablet application targeted for infant education using augmented reality technology. We used tablet instead of personal computer because it is more easily accessible and more convenient. The system let infant users to play with teaching aids like blocks or puzzles to mimic musical play like game. They can match blocks and system recognizes those blocks using augmented reality technic without any physical connection between blocks and the tablet. We did experiments to get acceptable recognition ratio with more than 5,000 frames of actual playing scenarios. The experiment result chose threshold values out of various condition parameters to make reasonably working 95% of recognition ratio.
