Learning Factors of Hearing-Impaired Students

Abstract
The objectives of this study were to: investigate the learning factors of hearing-impaired students, and compare the factors of those students whose severity of hearing loss was different. The participants were 226 tertiary hearing-impaired students. A questionnaire was used to collect the data and a program was used to analyze the data. The results revealed that in general the students� learning factors were high. Family support ranked the highest, followed by educational institution support and parents� assistance and cooperation. Communication ranked the least. As for the comparison, the students viewed that they were provided with different assistance according to their severity of hearing loss.
