Participation Behavior in Creating a Low-Carbon Society

Abstract
Climate action is one of the SDGs goals for developing sustainability. It requires to take urgent actions to combat climate change and its impacts. This research aims to study the influence of Knowledge and perception on participation behaviors in creating a low-carbon society of residents in Bangkok Metropolitan Region. Collecting data from 400 respondents who live in Bangkok Metropolitan Region, and analyzing data by Stepwise MultipleRegression Analysis. The findings reveal thatBangkok residents have high levels of knowledge & perception inGreen Energy, Pollution & wastemanagement, and Conservation & restoration of green areasaspects, whereas they have low knowledge and perception level in Sustainable consumption aspect. In terms of participation behaviors, Bangkok residents have low to lowest levels of participation behaviors in all aspects. Research finds that Knowledge & perception inSustainable consumption, Pollution & waste management and Conservation & restoration have greatly influences on a low -carbon behavior, especially the knowledge & perception in Sustainable consumption have affected on every aspect of low-carbon behaviors.
