Economic Relevance of English Literature and Linguistics in Ghana

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to analyze the economic impact and potential strategies to leverage English literature and linguistics for Ghana's development. The study employs qualitative techniques through interviews, to understand the economic impact and strategies for English literature in Ghana. The study found that English literature and linguistics-related industries contribute significantly to Ghana's GDP and employment, albeit with varying degrees across sectors. Again, market demand for English literature and linguistics products and services is influenced by factors such as educational policies, cultural preferences, and global market trends. Finally, strategies to enhance the economic relevance of English literature and linguistics in Ghana include targeted educational initiatives, policy support for the creative industries, and fostering collaborations between academia and industry for innovation and market expansion. The study advocates that policy-makers and industry stakeholders optimize resources, promote literacy, and foster economic growth through English literature initiatives. This study pioneers a holistic examination of the economic dimensions of English literature and linguistics, offering novel insights for Ghana's development.
