Optimizing Operational Resilience: An Innovative Framework for Healthcare Equipment Maintenance Prioritization

Abstract
The efficient management of medical equipment is a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of hospital performance improvement. This research addresses the complexity of contemporary medical equipment management in healthcare settings. With advancements in technology and increasing demands for reliability and patient safety, hospitals must focus on the effective maintenance of their medical equipment. This article discusses various methods for assessing the criticality of medical equipment and suggests a new criticality assessment model integrating aspects from these methods to provide a comprehensive evaluation. This model considers factors such as equipment function, failure risk, frequency of occurrence, and ease of detection. The proposed model can serve as a foundation for monitoring equipment criticality and developing preventive maintenance plans, ultimately improving equipment reliability and availability.
