Policy Proposals for Archaeological and Local Historic Sites Management and Preservation in The Central Part of Thailand

Abstract
In the central part of Thailand, there are so many Archaeological and Local Historic Sitesthat need management and preservation. The research objectives were 1) to study the situations of archaeological and local historic sites management and preservation in the central part of Thailand; 2) to analyze the potentiality, problem, opportunity, and constraint for archaeological and local historic sites management and preservation in the central part of Thailand; and 3) to develop the policy recommendations of the archaeological and local historic sites management and preservation in the central part of Thailand. The methodology was the phenomenological study. The methodology employed in the study was the qualitative methodology. The data was collected by in-depth interviewing the head of organizations that worked with the Archaeological and Local Historic Sites management and preservation. The research found that 1) situations of archaeological and local historic sites management and preservation in the central part of Thailandin all provinces were similar. 2) In addition, the research also found eighteen issues of potentiality, twenty-six issues of the problem, seventeen issues of opportunity, and twenty-eight issues of constraint for archaeological and local historic sites management and preservation. Finally, 3) the policy recommendations would be categorized into two parts which were the recommendations for management and preservation.
