Abstract
Abstract - Textbooks fulfill a dual role in education, functioning not only as a medium for conveying the teacher's educational viewpoint but also as a platform for the propagation and preservation of ideological frameworks, particularly in the context of language acquisition. Culture in general is represented in textbooks in many previous studies. However, local culture, such as Sundanese, has not been widely studied and needs to be studied to construct a more specific identity. The visual aspect is examined using theory from Kress and van Leeuwen as the main framework. Then, the ideological or cultural representation mapping or in the textbook. The findings show that women are visually and verbally represented as women with beautiful physical appearance, being hard workers, having positive personalities, and caring for their families.
