Autophagy Pathway Changes Associated With Hcv Genotype 4 Infection

Abstract
Background:Autophagy is a term derived from Greek terminology for self-eating. It signifies the process of cellular self-digestion in which cytoplasmic components are degraded in lysosomes.Autophagy has been reported to be manipulated during replication of various RNA viruses. In this study, we investigated the changes ocurring in autophagy pathway after infection with hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 4 which is the most common genotype in Egypt.
