Research on Teaching Business Thai in China’s Universities in the Context of “The Belt and Road”

Abstract
In order to build a new international economic cooperation corridor and a smooth and efficient cooperation channel, in 2013, the Chinese government laid out a strategic blueprint for the construction of “the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road”, namely “ The Belt and Road” policy, or “B&R”. As one of the importantBelt and Road countries, Thailand is an important agricultural trade partner of China. To a certain extent, bilateral trade between Thailand and China is strongly complementary, and is developing rapidly under the impetus of the "The Belt and Road". With increasing trade activities between the two countries, the demand for bilingual Chinese and Thai talents is rising. The requirements for Thai language talents are also improved-they are not only required for a solid professional foundation in Thai language, but also required for an understanding of business basics, Thailand's economic development, laws and regulations, and financial policies. Universities, as talent training bases, are important to alleviate the contradiction between supply and demand in the talent market. In view of this, this research analyzes the current situation of teaching business Thai in China, combines the new needs of business Thai language talents training at this stage, and puts forward the corresponding teaching reform strategies.
