Impact of Socio Economic Factors on Academic Achievement of Students at Elementary Level in District Sheikhupura Punjab, Pakistan

Abstract
The study analyzed the impact of socio economic factors on academic achievement on students at elementary level in district Sheikhupura. The primary data was used for the analysis. The simple random sampling technique was used for collection of data. In the study, those students were targeted who were the students of 8th class in elementary public schools in district Sheikhupura. The data was collected through face to face interview method. A total of 80 students from 4 different elementary public schools were chosen and from each elementary school 20 students were chosen for sample. For the analysis of the study, descriptive as well as inferential analysis was done in the current study. For the empirical analysis of the study multinomial logistic regression model was used in the study. The results of study showed that mother’s education, father’s education, father’s profession and residence place may have positive and significant impact on the academic achievement of the students at elementary level while gender and family size might be negative and have insignificant impact on the academic achievement of the students. So, on the base of results it was concluded that socio economic factors has much influence on the academic achievement of the students at elementary level in district Sheikhupura.
