Paper Title
Performance of RO Membrane at Different Working Conditions and Feed Spacer Thickness

Abstract
Reverse osmosis is the most common water desalination system due to its low cost. Many attempts were done to enhance RO membrane performance. Membrane geometry plays an important role in its performance specially feed spacer. In this paper, the effect of different operating parameters on RO membrane performance is studied theoretically. The studied parameters are feed pressure, feed flow rate, feed water temperature and feed water concentration. Matlab algorithm for RO process and ROSA software are used to do the theoretical study. Matlab algorithm is used to study the effect of feed spacer thickness. It is found that by increasing feed spacer thickness from 0.7to 0.86mm, the pressure drop in membrane decreased by 29% but membrane flux will be decreased by 8.1%.
