Paper Title
Reflections of Kibele Cult in Modern Turkish Ceramic Art in Anatolia

Abstract
From the first ages to the present, the concept of culture is associated with the human being and its nature. The concept of culture, which continues with an uninterrupted process from the old ages to the present day, continues its diversity thanks to the richness and changes in the meaning of time. One of the oldest and most enduring contributions that human beings made to civilization in the cultural sense is the production of ceramics. In ancient times where ceramic production existed, the figurative expressions reflecting the traditions of faith and death were found as archaeological documents. Considering the characteristics of belief that have been developed since the Neolithic age, it is seen that women and females are highly important in the tribes. According to what we have learned from sculptures, reliefs, women are the founders, producers and essence of society. From these sources, we can argue that a matriarchal understanding of society prevails in Anatolia. Edil Cybele edil, an important part of Anatolian culture, is expressed as the mother of all gods and goddesses. In this study; Some of the contemporary Turkish ceramic artists, who were inspired by Anatolian civilizations and especially the goddess figurines, were discussed.
